A large percentage of people struggle with weight problems, including the author. His desire is that those whove taken the easy road (as he has in the past) might be awakened. He also hopes to lead others to a greater awareness of the plight of, and discrimina-tion against, those who are overweight. He subtly shows, if we dont take care of ourselves, were headed to an early grave. Fritz once asked Johnny Blanchard if he was doing anything about his diabetes, to which he an-swered, Nah, I dont worry about that anymore. Thats the last time he saw Johnny alive.About the Author: Fritz Peterson pitched in the 1970 All Star Game for the American League and won 20 games for the Yankees that year.

He led the American League 5 years in a row with the fewest walks per inning pitched, a feat last ac-complished by Cy Young. Hes also in the top 20 all-time pitching leaders for the Yankees in several categories and posted the lowest overall ERA of all time, 2.52, in historic Yankee Stadium (Whitey Ford came in second with a 2.55), a record thatll never change hands since the original Yankee Stadium was replaced in 2009.Fritz was the starting pitcher in the last game Mickey Mantle homered, and was also the starting pitcher in the last game to be played in the original House that Ruth Built.Today Fritz travels helping to raise money for prostate cancer research, and writes uplifting, encouraging books focusing on the unconditional love and grace of God.
